His Excellency Mr. Osama bin Ahmed Khalaf Al-Asfour, Minister of Social Development, stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain has paid great attention to humanitarian and charitable work by supporting and supporting various voluntary initiatives that reflect a high sense of patriotism, and enhance belonging to the homeland by working to meet the needs of society in various fields, which had a clear impact on the emergence of a number of sustainable development projects and support for the government's work programs.
This came during the patronage of the Minister of Social Development for the Humanitarian and Charitable Award ceremony in its third session for the current year 2023, which was organized by the Tree of Life Charitable and Social Society, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies members of the House of Representatives, the Governor of the Northern Governorate, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association, Mr. Khalil Ahmed Al-Daylami, and with the participation of a number of senior officials of private institutions, members of civil organizations and workers in the charitable, humanitarian and voluntary sectors in the Bahraini society, at the Sofitel Hotel in Zallaq.
Minister Al-Asfour praised the objectives of the award, which has contributed since its first session to the consolidation of efforts that pour into developing the strategic institutional path to establish charitable and voluntary work, in addition to spreading and promoting the concept of the culture of volunteer work and highlighting its moral value as a national and humanitarian duty, by encouraging individuals, associations and volunteer teams to be creative in the implementation of charitable and humanitarian volunteer projects, pointing out in this regard what the award has achieved in a way that contributed to raising awareness among charities of the importance of excellence in institutional performance and work. To encourage positive competition in order to reach a distinguished professional volunteer work.
He also pointed to the support of the Ministry of Social Development and its keenness to organize charitable and social work as a parallel sector to the efforts of government and private institutions, pointing to the importance of community partnership between various sectors, for the success of charitable and development work initiatives in Bahraini society, in addition to working continuously to improve performance and develop the outputs of development programs and projects implemented by civil society organizations, in a way that contributes to their sustainability and keeps pace with social changes and developments.
